Operations Consultant Linda Chambers, PhD

Education is the goal that has stood the test of time enabling me to help business owners. My personal values are knowledge, discipline, understanding, relationships, and independence. Having seen my dad place high importance every day on what he called “counting up” at the end of the day the cash receipts from his taxi cab fares stuck in the back of my mind as I sought a career. Looking back to my high school years, I realized that I was too young and lacked the knowledge to help my dad. However, he had laid a path for me to later offer valuable insight to small business owners who may need an expert eye on their operation that creates order and consistency to control their business outcomes. People get my attention when they explain their own situation which in turn allows me room to encourage them. I pursued an Accounting degree to learn something that my dad might consider practical and important given his routine of counting up his cash fares at the end of the day. The focal point of my career is business operations: accounting for sales and costs, and evaluating compliance with written policies and procedures. This business focus means that my thoughts are dominated by the order in which things happen, whether it’s how a restaurant operates or even whether my daily driving route is the most efficient. I generally focus for long periods of time and recharge my energy in quiet spaces by reading or taking short walks and listening to nature. I also enjoy puzzles and word search games.
